Almost 60 years ago, the gentleman from the left photograph happened to take a picture at a very nice park in my hometown. Very close, in fact, from the house where I was born and grew up, in Sevilla. The right photograph is the proof of what might have been the only time I physically stood where he stood. I have been, however, following his steps for several years now. He is the father of many of the investing principles that millions, including me, use when considering capital allocation decisions. Alongside and after him, many other great investors improved those rules fuelled by the constant passion to understand businesses and investments. It is my personal motivation to follow them, to stand on the shoulders of these giants, to learn and enjoy as much as possible about this shared passion that connects them and me. That is, for the purpose of this blog, who I am. Just an ordinary man, a “forever student” who wants to learn from the greatest investors of all time, and along the ride, have some fun.
